Ticket sales benefit the Rhinebeck Chamber's fund for lighting village trees during the upcoming holiday season. Cocktails at Sunset is the Chambers yearly event to raise money for the installation of lights in village trees. Many Chambers and municipalities across the country are abandoning seasonal holiday decorating because of the cost. "We are exploring different techniques and new technology to preserve and enhance the 'magical warmth' our Rhinebeck village lighted trees provide. It is a costly endeavor because of the time and amount of labor needed, but the Chamber Board recognizes how the seasonal glow is important to our businesses and residents" adds Board President Jesse Hewitt.
Chef Josh Kroner of Terrapin Restaurants was the first restaurants to sign up "Cheers to the Chamber of Commerce for coming up with this great fundraising event idea; there's nothing quite like Rhinebeck all lit up for the holidays. Terrapin's bartenders have a festive cocktail in the works, as I'm sure all of the other local bartenders do, so I encourage everyone to get your tickets ASAP and come raise a glass (or a few!) with us at the first ever Rhinebeck."
